VOCES UNIDAS

Building the next generation of Hispanic civic leaders in St. Louis.

Voces Unidas is a four-week training that equips you with the knowledge, strategy, and voice to advocate for real change.

Across the St. Louis region, many people care deeply about the issues affecting their communities. Yet access to civic power, understanding how decisions are made, who holds authority, and how to engage effectively, remains uneven.

For those without prior experience, civic processes can feel complex and difficult to navigate.

Voces Unidas is built for you.

Why This Program Exists

This is not a lecture series. It is a program grounded in real-world application. Participants use an issue they care about to learn how civic systems work, building an understanding of how decisions are made, how power operates, and how to navigate these systems with confidence.

The program runs over four weeks, with one three-hour session each week. Each session builds on the last, creating a structured learning experience. It concludes with a closing ceremony marking the completion of the program.

About the Program

What You'll Learn

By the end of the program, you will walk away with more than knowledge. You will gain the confidence, tools, and practical understanding to navigate civic systems and take action.

You will learn how to read the civic landscape, who holds authority, and how decisions get made. This understanding will help you make sense of how civic systems work and how to engage with them more effectively.

Understanding Decision-Making

You will strengthen your ability to communicate clearly and with purpose. You will practice connecting personal experience to public issues in a way that is grounded and credible.

Strengthen Your Voice

You will build practical skills to engage with the systems around you. This includes identifying decision-makers, understanding pathways for action, and learning how to move from concern to participation.

Tools For Action

You will leave with a clear sense that you have a place in civic processes. Not as an observer, but as someone who can engage, contribute, and advocate with purpose.

Recognize Your Power

This program is for you if you live or work in the St. Louis area, care about something happening in your community, and want to learn how to take action.

You do not need any experience in politics, organizing, or public speaking. Just bring something you care about and a willingness to show up and learn.

Funders

Voces Unidas is a pilot program launching in 2026, with three cohorts planned throughout the year. Each cohort will serve a small group of participants through a structured, hands-on curriculum, culminating in a public graduation where participants share their work.

We are actively seeking funding partners who believe civic participation should be accessible to every community. Support goes directly toward facilitator costs, materials, participant resources, and ceremony programming.
