PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES
At the Hispanic Leaders Group, we champion representation and visibility for the Hispanic/Latine community. We claim space — in leadership, in civic life, and in every room where decisions are made.
Because our voices matter.
Our stories matter.
Our leadership matters.
LATINO VOTE
Hispanic Leaders Group is proud to launch an initiative dedicated to empowering the Hispanic/Latino community in Missouri and the St. Louis region through increased voter registration, education, and turnout. We believe every voice matters and our collective participation can shape a brighter future for all.
Learning Series
Our Learning Series are a set of educational sessions designed to empower and inform the Hispanic/Latine community, our allies, elected officials, and the public through accessible, relevant, and engaging educational sessions. The series focuses on building leadership skills, promoting civic engagement, and increasing awareness of key issues affecting Hispanic communities in Missouri.
HISPANIC CAPITOL DAY
Hispanic Capitol Day is an annual event that promotes civic engagement and strengthens the voice of Missouri’s Hispanic community.
Each year, participants from across the state gather at the Missouri State Capitol to meet with lawmakers and agency leaders, gain insight into how government functions, and advocate for issues affecting their communities.
The event ensures Hispanic voices are heard in the policy-making process.
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
The Hispanic Leaders Group is committed to empowering the Hispanic and Latine community to actively participate in civic life. Through a range of initiatives, we encourage engagement at every level— from voting to leadership. Our Latino Vote initiative focuses on increasing voter registration, education, and turnout to ensure our community's voice is heard at the ballot box. Beyond voting, we are building capacity for Latine individuals to serve on non-profit boards, government commissions, and advisory bodies, helping shape policies and decisions that impact our communities. By promoting community leadership, the Hispanic Leaders Group works to foster civic pride, build representation, and strengthen the impact of the Hispanic community in public life.
HIspanic Scholarship Alliance
The Hispanic Leaders Group convenes the Hispanic Scholarship Alliance, a collaborative effort of more than fifteen Hispanic organizations united by a shared mission: To support educational opportunities for the Hispanic community through scholarships. Each year, the Alliance comes together to award these scholarships during a special annual ceremony celebrating the achievements and potential of Hispanic students. This event highlights the power of community collaboration and the commitment to investing in the future of our youth.
ESPERANZA AWARDS
The Anthony B. Ramirez Premio Esperanza (Hope Award) was established in 2003 by the Hispanic Leaders Group to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the Hispanic community. Renamed in 2010 to recognize founder Anthony B. Ramirez, the award highlights excellence in areas such as business, community service, education, the arts, human rights, and public service. It is presented annually at a special event celebrating the honorees’ impactful service.
HLG SCHOLARSHIPS
The Hispanic Leaders Group proudly awards scholarships each year to support Hispanic and Latine students pursuing college or trade school. These scholarships are funded through community donations, sponsorships, and fundraising efforts. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, and financial need. Through this program, we aim to reduce financial barriers and empower students to reach their educational and career goals.
