Leadership & Civic Engagement

VOCES UNIDAS

A four-week leadership training program building skills in advocacy, public speaking, and community organizing. Designed for individuals ready to step into leadership roles.

Membership Meetings

Educational sessions on policy, leadership, and community issues. Topics have included immigration enforcement, civic board placement, and nonprofit governance.

Hispanic Capitol Day

An annual trip to the Missouri State Capitol where community members meet with lawmakers, learn how state government works, and advocate on priority issues.

Scholarships & Education

HLG Scholarships

HLG's own scholarship awards for Hispanic and Latine students pursuing college or trade school. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.

Hispanic Scholarship Alliance

A coalition of Hispanic organizations expanding access to higher education by funding scholarships for the next generation of Latino leaders.

Awards & recognition

Esperanza Awards

The Anthony B. Ramirez Premio Esperanza, established in 2003, honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the Hispanic community across business, education, the arts, and public service. Presented annually at HLG's signature event.

Campaigns

Hispanic Heritage Month

Each year during Hispanic Heritage Month, Latino organizations come together to celebrate under a shared theme. In 2024, the theme was Latinos: Passion, Progress, Power, followed by Todos Somos Uno in 2025.

Latino Vote

The Latino Vote initiative is dedicated to empowering the Hispanic/Latino community in Missouri and the St. Louis region through increased voter registration, education, and turnout. We believe every voice matters and our collective participation can shape
a brighter future for all.
